Worst TV to Movie Adaptations
By: keyshark Created:5-22-2008 List Contest: Staff not Eligible

There's nothing like bringing a TV series to the big screen to milk the money cow a little more. Sometimes it works...but the majority of the time, the directors try to give it their own vision and the movie loses all the elements that made it great.

I can only hope that it doesn't happen to Arrested Development or GI Joe.

While this making the list is just a prediction, I feel pretty confident in it. All I can hope is that when I am forced to go, I'm liquored up enough to get through it.

Wasn't the Claw supposed to be faceless. And when you imagined the Claw, did you picture Rupert Everett?

The first sign of disaster was that the CG cat looked like it could be a registered sex offender.

The movie would have been better if they did stop-motion on the toys themselves. The acting would have certainly improved.

It was clear that the reason that this movie took place on Earth and not Eternia was the lack of a budget for a set.

And why introduce a bunch of characters that weren't in the TV series. Though Blade was cool.

Imagine Joey, from Friends, running around in a space outfit and Heather Graham as a Doctor. It's the most boring 131 minutes of your life.

Imagine giving the Parody director for the MTV Movie Awards a $92 Million budget....you would get Charlie's Angels.

At first I thought Will Ferrell was trying to end his career....Thankfully Talladega Nights came out.

It's sad that if you cut the movie down to its good parts, you have the trailer. And that's pretty much all you needed to see.

To put this is perspective...this was Freddie Prinze Jr.'s worst movie (and yes, I'm including Wing Commander)

Not even Jessica Simpson's finest performance (I judged her performance on hotness) could make 2 hours of jumping cars interesting.

And wasn't Daisy supposed to be the smart one? You would think that teaming her up with Johnny Knoxville and Sean William Scott that wouldn't be an issue...but Jessica proved us all wrong.

Actually, you're wrong on a couple. Lost In Space was a great reimaging of the series. Scooby Doo, excellent adaptation of a 2D medium into 3D, and very faithful to the characters.

I think Dukes of Hazard was the peak of Jessica's hotness. It'll be downhill from here.

C'mon know, Charlies's Angels was hardly the high end of entertainment in the first place. I think the movie was a close enough adaption.
