Top 10 Best MMA Fighters Ever
By: flancrest1994 Created:7-05-2008 List Contest: July

Mixed Martial Arts has become one of the hottest sports in the world, one that I think should be put into the olympics. The sport never wouldve been lifted if it werent for these fighters. The thing is though... I would NEVER want to fight against one of these guys in my life.

Tito Ortiz

Ortiz debuted at UFC 13 in 1997. He then went on to fight at UFC 18 winning, and UFC 19 also winning by TKO. He became a champion in the light heavyweight division at UFC 25 vs Wanderlei Silva. Tito fought in many big fights and stayed in the top 10 in the world for most of his carreer. He announced his retirement before losing to Lyoto Machida at UFC 84

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson

Rampage is a great striker and is one of the best fighters in the light heavyweight division. He was a coach on The Ultimate Fighter 7. He fought Forrest Griffin on July 5th and lost by decision after 5 rounds of great fighting.

Matt Hughes

Matt Hughes currently sits number 3 in the world MMA rankings in the welterweight division, but he didnt get there doing nothing. He beat Frank Trigg II at UFC 52 in one of the best fights I've seen. Hughes did however lose to Thiago Alves at UFC 85. He's still one of the best and one of my favorite fighters.

Urijah Faber

The California Kid has defeated some of the best fighters and stays consistently number 1 in the featherweight division! He recently defeated Jens Pulver in a WEC featherweight title fight.

Chuck Liddell

The Iceman is one of the most intimidating guys to ever step into the cage with, just his face would creep the heck out of me. He might not be the most decorated fighters but he was one of the pioneers of the sport and surely one of the toughest.

BJ Penn

BJ Penn is one of the most versatile fighters ever to fight. He has incredible flexibility and right now I cant choose whether he should be a lightweight or welterweight. He trains harder than any fighter and it all pays off. He beat Joe Stephenson at UFC 80 in Janurary and beat Sean Sherk at UFC 84 also nicknamed ill will for the trash talk prior to the fight.

Randy Couture

Randy Couture is one of the veterans of the UFC and one of the most decorated fighters. He's my number 1 fighter to ever enter the cage.

Georges St. Pierre

St. Pierre lost his welterweight title to Matt Serra a while back then soon after he beat Matt Hughes to regain his welterweight title. He beat Matt Serra after his loss and now sits atop the deepest division in the UFC with almost no one tough enough to beat him.

Anderson Silva

Anderson Silva dominates the middleweight division! He had to defend his middleweight title against Rich Franklin and then soon after that in UFC 82 he dominated Dan Henderson!

Fedor Emilianenko

Emilianenko might possibly be the best fighter in the world right now but that doesnt put him on top of my list. He hasnt fought anyone recently but if he did I bet he would pummel them. He should join the UFC and fight Couture... that would be somethin I'd pay extra to watch.

Kimbo is a joke and will be destroyed. List needs some work but not TOO rediculous. Faber hasnt fought any of the Top UFC guys so we'll see about him.

SILVA OVER FEDOR? I DONT THINK SO. FEDOR NEVER LOST(LEGALY), IN ANY ORGANIZATION, HE NEVER DID A MISTAKE IN A FIGHT. SILVA LOST A FEW TIMES IN PRIDE. ESPECIALY THAT FLYING HEEL HOOK FROM ChonanRyo Chonan, OWNED HIM.

The question was who's the best of all time, not who's the best that only Americans know. I have been watching MMA for a while, this is my observation. Greatest MMA fighters in history 1. Kazushi Sakuraba 2. Royce Gracie 3. Fedor Emelianenko 4. Wanderlai Silva 5. Randy Couture 6. Antonio Rogerio Noguiera 7. Matt Hughes 8. Mirko Cro Cop Flipovic 9. Chuck Lidell 10. BJ Penn
