NFL Best Bets - Week 8
By: bluedevil2k Created:10-30-2009 List Contest: Staff not Eligible

Coming off a big 3-team teaser last week, I'm a little disappointed to say that this week will be a tough one to make some money. Not as many easy picks as last week. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try some bets out - how else you going to make your Sunday afternoon exciting? Spending time with your girlfriend? Have fun with that.

Here's my possible picks for the week. Press the "+" button if you think it's a good bet, and the "-" button if you think it's a bad bet. When all the votes are counted, we as a group should have the best picks all lined up.

Tennessee -3

The Titans might be 0-6 this year, but Vince Young will be starting his first game since early 2008, and let's face facts...Vince Young wins football games. He might not be pretty when he does it (his arm sucks), but he's 20-12 as a starter, and led this team to the playoffs in the past.

The Jaguars are struggling, and we'll give the benefit of the doubt to the home Titans to turn it around this game under the leadership of a proven winner, Vince Young

Teaser - Texans (-3) & Indy (-12)

If we've learned anything this year, it's that Peyton Manning covers spreads. Big time. The Colts are putting up tons of points on everyone, making them a safe bet to cover the spread. We'll take a little safety cushion with this bet, and buy it down 7 points against the 49ers, and make it a 5 point spread.

This line is just crazy if you ask me. The Texans are finally starting to look good and win some games, and the Bills look terrible. They fired their offensive coordinator but I never heard if they hired another one to replace him. It definitely shows. No way the Texans don't win this one with a +4 spread.

Detroit Pick 'Em

To set the record straight, this is Matt Stafford and his girlfriend. Life must be nice when you're an NFL QB with a $40M contract. His team may not be good, but if you had a girl like this, would it matter?

Though the Lions aren't a great team this year, they are definitely on the up and up. The Rams on the other hand are on the down and down, and have quit trying on a weekly basis.

When it comes to a team that has a motivating coach and youngsters trying to win vs. a team that is already looking forward to the end of the season, you always pick the girl with the nice rack...I mean the team looking to win.

Houston Texans -3

This line is just crazy if you ask me. The Texans are finally starting to look good and win some games, and the Bills look terrible. They fired their offensive coordinator but I never heard if they hired another one to replace him. It definitely shows.

Houston should win this game by at least 7.
